The Adventure...
Last year in 2011 it was a rough one for me so I had this idea of going away for a while, leaving everything behind, quitting my job, leaving my belongings...and go out to live the dream.
After ending a relationship of 9 years and getting laid off from my last job I found myself a bit lost but thinking about that idea more and more, and that if it was going to happen at certain point of my life there wouldn't be a better time than now. I wasn't sure about the destination yet but I was clear I wanted it to be epic and long.
For a while Peru crossed my mind, then Europe, but well, realistically speaking, without a job my sources of income were scarce so what would be a memorable trip where I could have certain control over my expenses and still enjoy for a long time the nature of the trip and its challenges at my own pace? Then it hit me
To Bike Across Canada....
I've been living in Canada for about 11 years now and I can only say I know only 3 cities (Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver) and the time has come where I get to know this country I've been calling Home for the past decade. From coast to coast on my bicycle.
Starting on June 01, 2012 in Vancouver, BC I will be ridding almost 8000 Km in order to reach the Atlantic Ocean on the coast of Newfoundland. I am taking 3 months to complete this journey in where I will be camping, staying at hostels and visiting friends. Carrying nothing more than what I can fit on my bike "Dante" and lots of hope.
I am looking forward this trip as I see it as one of those "changing experiences" I might need to do just in time for my 36th birthday once I come back.
Please follow me and Dante on this once in a lifetime adventure and thank you for all your support
